Faculty of Architecture & Planning (FAP)
The Faculty of Architecture & Planning is a home to faculty members from the areas of architecture and environmental science. The faculty consists of 12 full-time faculty members- 2 professors, 2 assistant professor, 6 lecturers, and 2 staffs. The faculty currently offers two undergraduate degrees through its two different departments, each of them having an unique learning experiences. The faculty, however, plans to introduce four more programs to be offered through four new departments such as department of building science, department of interior design, department of landscape architecture, and department of urban & regional planning
The goal of the architectural education provided at BUFT is to bring the university at the forefront of architectural design study, and trends in the 21st century. In order to do this more vibrant holistic program is offered that incorporates various fields of study (e.g. the arts, social sciences, and engineering). The program offered by the department is a more well-roundeed and more balanced architectural study program that extends well beyond other more traditional programs.
Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary department that offers students the opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of environmental issues. The program offered emphasizes perspectives from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Relying heavily on case studies, problem-solving strategies, and community involvement, the curriculum addresses environmental issues at local, national and global levels.
