Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

The department of Civil Engineering that functions under the umbrella of Faculty of Engineering Studies at BUFT has been established in 2018. At the moment the department is offering one undergraduate program leading to Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree.

Program of Study

The department offers an undergraduate program leading to Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.Sc. in CE) degree. The program is constructed of an interdisciplinary curriculum drawing on diverse sciences, mathematics and civil engineering principles.

B.Sc. in CE (Code: 000)

The graduates of the department will be prepared with a solid foundation in mathematics, sciences and technical skill needed to analyze and design civil infrastructure system. Graduates will possess strong written and oral communication skill.
